Is the American Church Allied with Israel or Not?

On Saturday, Israel was invaded by the terrorist group known as Hamas. They are a Palestinian militant group founded in 1987 as part of the Muslim Brotherhood. It has been set on Israel’s destruction as a nation from the beginning, and if they had their way, they would kill every Jewish person on the planet. The atrocities occurring in Israel today stem from the hatred this Palestinian group has towards the Jewish people. Israel’s Prime Minister Netanyahu appeared on national television in Israel on Saturday to let the world know that Israel was now in a state of war with Hamas. Thousands of Israelis have been killed, kidnapped, and/or severely injured. Over 5000 missiles were launched in the first 24 hours into Israel from Palestinian positions. They have also put boots on the ground in Israel by sea, air, and land. Israel is a sovereign nation like the United States, and this invasion is an act of war and requires retaliation by Israel and its allies.

Israel has been working on a peace agreement with Saudi Arabia and the other Arab nations over the past few months, and according to Israel’s Prime Minister, it was looking very promising before this attack occurred. While Hamas and Palestine are not a part of the Arab nations, Arabs and Palestinians are both made up mainly of Muslims. Hamas is largely supported financially by Iran, which is also a largely populated Muslim nation. For thousands of years, the Middle East has been a battleground, so a peace agreement between Saudi Arabia and Israel would be a historical event, if indeed it were ever able to materialize. Prime Minister Netanyahu stated that this agreement would mark the beginning of a significant period of peace in the region. This peace has not existed since Israel became a nation in 1948. However, the Bible has prophesied all this a long time ago, and we already know how the story ends.

In 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11, it says, “Now as to the periods and times, brothers and sisters, you have no need of anything to be written to you. For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord is coming just like a thief in the night. While they are saying, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction will come upon them like labor pains upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. But you, brothers and sisters, are not in darkness, so that the day would overtake you like a thief; for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness; so then, let’s not sleep as others do, but let’s be alert and sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who are drunk, get drunk at night. But since we are of the day, let’s be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation. For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep, we will live together with Him. Therefore, encourage one another and build one another up, just as you also are doing.”

Prime Minister Netanyahu was telling the world, “Peace and safety!” but there was no peace. Sudden destruction came upon them instead. The Book of 1 Thessalonians says that those who suffer sudden destruction are not those who are of the light, but they are those who are in darkness. How can Israel be in darkness if they are the chosen people of God? A 2015 Gallup survey found that 65% of Israel’s population either professed to be “convinced atheists” or “non-religious.” Only 30% professed some religious belief, and less than 3% believe in Jesus, their Messiah, as the Son of God. When Israel worshipped false gods in the Old Testament and turned their hearts away from the One true God, Jehovah, He often allowed their enemies to torment them until Israel repented, turned their hearts back to God, and cried out for His mercy and deliverance. When they chose to enter darkness, He would show them a way back into the light.

Before you start pointing fingers at Israel, though, check out how well the church in America is doing. In America, the church has become plagued with sin. Sin in the church is almost as prevalent as it is in the world. Before you allow yourself to become offended by the truth, realize that these statements are generalizations. The Church in America has been waiting for the move of the Holy Spirit to revive and revitalize it. If we don’t see a supernatural intervention by the Holy Spirit soon and allow ourselves to face the blatant sin in our lives and repent, we might find ourselves in a similar situation to Israel. Do you remember when Hamas invaded Israel on October 7, 2023? The same thing can happen here.

One poll shows that 54% of professing Christians in America believe homosexuality should be an acceptable lifestyle in the church. They are not saying that we should allow homosexuals to come to church, so that they might find repentance and salvation. Instead, they are saying this sinful lifestyle should be accepted and allowed to continue even after they become self-professing Christians and members of the congregation. Shockingly, 7 out of 10 women who have had an abortion were professing Christians when they had the abortion performed. There is also an increasing number of couples who live together out of wedlock in the Church. We are not talking about the nonbelievers who profess not to follow the teachings of Jesus. We are referring to the individuals who claim to follow Jesus' teachings and attend church on a somewhat regular basis.

These polls might lead one to believe that both Israel and the American Church are in a place of darkness, which might place them at risk of having “sudden destruction come upon them like labor pains upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.” We are seeing this happen right now in Israel. Did you know there is a constellation in the heavens called Virgo that is in the form of a woman? There is also a comet that entered the womb of the constellation nine months ago, and Virgo just gave birth to the comet in September. Are you following this? Does this sound like a good plot for an “end of the world” movie? This is happening right before our eyes, but many are either refusing to see or are unable to see because their hearts and eyes are set on worldly things. Paul, the author of 1 Thessalonians, is trying to encourage us with this scripture, not frighten us.

He says we are “not in darkness, so that the day would overtake you like a thief; for you are all sons of light and sons of day.” He points out that we are to stay “alert and sober” and “put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation. For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.” We have no reason to fear, because no matter what happens, we will live together with Jesus forever. So, be encouraged, brothers and sisters, and do not let fear creep into your souls. The physical world often reflects the events that occur in the spiritual world. Israel is at war in the flesh against the terrorist group Hamas. Still, the Church is fighting a battle in the spirit against spiritual powers and principalities in the heavens that control physical enemies like Hamas. We are fighting alongside a host of angels, and Jesus is leading the way. This makes us allies with Israel in the battle they are facing today. We must not let them down, or we might very well face the same fate. Spiritual warfare is fought with prayer and fasting on our knees before God. This is a call to spiritual arms. God is calling up His Church to stand with Israel. If the Church does not wake up soon and enter this fight, it may find itself being invaded by spiritual forces in the same way that Israel is facing Hamas today.

The Bible says that those who bless Israel, God will bless, and those who curse Israel, God will curse. In case you have not been paying attention, a few weeks ago, the United States government under this administration sent Iran $6,000,000,000 in a prisoner swap to free a few low-level political prisoners. That is a highly substantial ransom in my opinion. I can tell you, based on my military experience as a Navy SEAL, this does not happen very often, if at all. We might be sent in to get them in a clandestine operation, but you can be sure this country is not going to negotiate with terrorists, or at least, we didn’t use to. During President Obama’s administration, he worked with other countries to lift sanctions against Iran. He enabled them to gain access to about $50,000,000,000 worth of assets that were being held against them because they were pursuing nuclear weapons, or as some like to say (wink, wink), “their pursuit of clean nuclear energy.”

The point is that money has either been directly or indirectly given to Iran by this country. Iran is Hamas’s number one donor when it comes to financial and military support. If you can connect the lines, this country has indirectly backed the Hamas terrorist group in their invasion of Israel. This needs to be addressed because of what the Bible says about blessing and cursing Israel. The Church in America needs to wake up and start to speak out against the actions of those in our government who want to see the destruction of Israel, or the church and this nation will soon find out that God is no respecter of men. He will allow war and affliction on this nation’s soil to call His church to repentance and draw a nation that was once “one nation under God” back to its rightful place in His kingdom, just as He has done with Israel time and time again. The Church can stand in intercession for Israel and this nation if we wake up now! There is still time, but the clock is ticking! It says in 2 Chronicles 7:14, “If My people who are called by My name humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” This scripture applies both to Israel and the Body of Christ in the world.

We can choose to be “sons of light and sons of day” and rise to the purpose for which we were created, or we can stick our heads in the sand, and next month or next year, it will be China and/or Russia knocking on our coastline. The Church in America is the only reason this country has lasted as long as it has, and this comes from a ten-year Navy SEAL veteran who is honored to have served in the world’s greatest military. Many things can destroy a nation, and military armies are only a small portion of them. Look at what led to the collapse of the Roman Empire or any of the mighty empires of the past. Many times, they fell victim to corruption within their own government. We are no different. Just look around. The Church needs to move past immature squabbling and bickering, tear down the dividing walls of denominational identity, and come together as one body under Jesus Christ, ready to serve our King. He will have His glory, of this, there is no doubt! The question for us is, will we be there to bring it to Him and be used by Him, or will He use another? Now is the time. We were created for such a time as this! In the name of Jesus Christ, come together in unity now, Body of Christ, before it is too late! Stand with Israel and prepare for His return!

Beau Walsh

I was prodigal son who was raised in a nondenominational church in a small town in Texas. My parents were pastors of the church, but I decided to find my own way in life while walking in rebellion towards my Father in heaven. I served ten years as a Navy SEAL, worked at NASA’s NBL dive facility, taught and coached high school athletes, and worked as a Pediatric ER travel nurse before I finally decided to dedicate my life to Jesus Christ and return to my Father’s house as son of God.

I wrote a book titled Prodigal to Prince: One man’s journey along the narrow road. It tells my life’s story and how God called me into His kingdom. It also was written as an encouraging word for other prodigals in hopes of calling them back into the Father’s loving arms. It also calls those who are already serving Him to be inspired to return to the first love they once found in Jesus.

I work fulltime for the Lord now, and I am excited about all the things God is doing in my life! Follow me on my journey as I share the revelations with you that God shares with me. I pray it is a blessing to you in your journey along the narrow road with Christ! It will soon be time for the Father to reveal His sons and daughters within the earth!
